The Movie is a GO or Crunch Time

So I officially sent out the casting call for the movie yesterday. I've been receiving emails from interested people, so we will hopefully find the right actors for the right roles. It is officially crunch time now, as I have to storyboard the whole thing, get costumes, sets, props, etc in a months time. Oh yeah, I also need to get a good microphone. ACK! This is a huge undertaking, but I'm sure the experience will rock hardcore. If anyone wants details, let me know!
Lee grabbed a sweet DVD set of all Benoit/Finlay/Regal matches. Most of you will be wondering "who?" or "why?" but I say "it rocks!"
Quickie movie reviews: "X-Men 3" was pretty ok, "Da Vinci Code" was blah, "Inside Man" was not too shabby, "Brick" was good, can't remember any others...
I went to Ultimate Cage Wars with my brother and his friends Saturday night. It reinforced my opinion that I don't care for MMA, especially not live. Every match was over in 3-5 minutes, with a thorough trouncing of all the Winnipeg fighters. You might as well just watch it on tv, as due to the restrictive view granted by the cage, you just end up watching the monitors anyway. I did get to meet my brothers ex-pro-wrestler friend who had tonnes of crazy stories... and LOVED to talk. He seriously talked non-stop the entire time. He was also huge...
So much to do!

What the Hell? or Money?!?!

I have an odd tale to report that's ending is yet to be determined. It all begins with my posting my gamecube for sale on used winnipeg.com, a local classified website. I received an email in broken english from someone proclaiming to be from Dubai wanting to know if I would ship it there. Thinking this was some scam I did not respond, but kept getting the same questions from him. Finally I said I would for and extra $100 on the purchase price. He immediately asked for my address, which I was weary to give, so I gave the one for Greyhound downtown, where I could pick it up. He then said that he would send the money order through "a local courier company" and to please let him know when it arrives.
At this point, I assume the whole thing is still a joke, until yesterday when I found a letter "from Dubai" in my mailbox at work. This letter, while the front is stamped with Dubai postage, contains an interior letter that has a money order drawn from the Bank of America with an address from someone in Louisiana. the money order appears to be legit, but is for "950 dols 00 cts." I have no idea which currency it is in, but I will assume American. If this is legitimate, why did he send me $300 more than I asked? I have a strange feeling that this is not on the level, but have never heard of any kind of scam like this before. Has anyone else? It would be super awesome to have another $1000 on hand, but I am not holding out hope for the smooth working of this transaction.
In other news, I have been working and doing little of note. Well, I guess reading, working out, and watching DVD's is of SOME note, but not much... that is, unless Erin is around.

Working and Laz-ing or So Much Music!

Not too much to report over the past little while, just doing the norm of work, and relaxing type stuff. Plenty of things watched, played, and read. Of particular note is the story of Stampede Wrestling "Pain and Passion" which was an awesome read. I also picked up a massive biography of Alec Guiness for 10$ in the bargain bin of McNally. Yay for Alec Guiness!
I now have 30 Gig's of music on my computer. That's pretty much all of my CD's now in digital form. Soooooo much to choose from. It's overwhelming at times. The new TOOL album is great stuff.
The Sens lost the first two games of their series with Buffalo. That blows. They damn well better come back! We can't have a Canadian team shut out AGAIN. Not with the new parity in the league.
The new Nintendo system, named WII, has some promising ideas and should be really different. At this point however, I am seriously uninterested in video games. The repetitive and stale genres have beaten this once proud gamer into boredom. It's hard to want to play another FPS, sports game, or racing game. Maybe a wonky new control style will be just the ticket. I also ditched my DS, which had some cool games and interesting concepts. I could still get a DS Lite, but I am thinking that handheld gaming just isn't for me. It's hard enough to want to play games at home, let alone on the go. The damn thing hurts my hands as well. It's not ergonomic for my large digits. Every gameboy has done that to me and yet I keep getting them! Curses! No more!
Any movie about counterfeit jeans has to be at least somewhat entertaining, and "Knock Off" managed to be just that. Not oscar caliber or anything, just fun and silly. Although I hate Rob Schneider with the fires of all hell.
Needing some drive.
