Lack of Lady or Books and Kung Fu!

Well, my lady has gone off to BC to start the MA program, so that leaves me all by my lonesome here in the 'Peg. Kinda sucks. Oh well, I'll be able to visit for free! I just finished the Jesse Ventura autobiography and picked up a handfull of other things to read (which include a 4$ Jean Beliveau autobiography, the Bob Dylan autobiography, a book about the history and culture of videogames, a book about Hirohito, and Dune). Needless to say I have many books to read now.
The editing process is progressing slowly. There are many scenes that have minor fuck ups in them (mic bumps, reflections, etc) that are becoming a nuisance, but are overcome through patience.
My 50 martial arts movie set finally showed up and thus far I have watched "The Street Fighter" and "Ninja Death I" both of which ruled hardcore. I can't wait to watch some more!
Found some Heroscape expansions in town the other day, which beefs up my collection to a large quantity... now if only I played more.
"Beerfest" was funny. "The Illusionist" was ok if only for Edward Norton and Paul Giamatti... Jessica Biel was not so good. "Little Miss Sunshine" is super-terrific, Steve Carrell is the man. Those were some really lame movie reviews but I am more in the mood to watch "Ninja Death II" than to type.

An Update! or I'm Your Man

I haven't been much in the mood to update over the past few weeks, that is not to say that things haven't been happening, because they have... I've just not been interested in writing. Quick recap:
I bought an imac for the editing of the movie and have begun the long process. Things look to be going ok thus far so I hope that I can get everything done in a few months. Editing is a long and arduous process, especially when you can only devote a few hours a day.
Last night I went to see 2 movies, "Leonard Cohen: I'm Your Man" and "Snakes on a Plane" talk about high and low brow! They were both great for what they were. Snakes was a ridiculous, over-the-top movie that was hilarious while the Cohen doc was filled with some incredible performances and some interesting snippits of wisdom from the man himself. I thought it could've used a tad more of him, but what was there was gold. He's still supremely self-deprecating and hilarious while being a soft spoken zen-poet genius. Of particular note is his reading of a new forward to one of his books recently translated into Chinese. Check it out! The thing sold out every day here in the 'peg.
Other than that, things are going ok. Erin leaves for BC in a week and a half and that's been a trying experience but I'm confident everything will work out the way it's supposed to and all will be well. I can also go to Vancouver for free AND stay there for free! Free vacation!
