Children of Men or Screening Results
Well folks, the screening went really well. We had 85 people or so show up (41 of whom paid) and they all seemed to laugh at the right moments. There were a few issues with the theatre, the staff not bothering with taking tickets, stopping one of the shorts in mid movie, turning the lights on before the credits had finished ("you want the lights OFF during the credits?????") but the experience made up for it. It was really neat to see what I had worked so hard on, up on a big screen and getting the intended reactions. I'm more pumped for the next one now! I'll have to get writing that...
I saw what was quite possibly the best film of the past couple years yesterday, "Children of Men". Just brilliant. There were huge sections where the action was all done in long tracking shots, with NO cuts. With so much going on, that must've taken an insane amount of time and effort to do well. It was so good, that it really made you lose yourself in the movie. I haven't felt that way during a film in a LONG time. I can't say enough good things about it.
