Another Post in Less than a Week or Killing Time

I should be working right now, but I'm going to call this time a break. This is the second time that I've posted something in less than a week, wow. After almost 2 years of silence, I'm back! This past weekend was fairly low key. Friday night Erin and I watched a few episodes of The IT Crowd followed by the first episode of Tell Me You Love Me. Now TMYLM filmed its pilot episode right here in the 'Peg, so I thought I'd give it a chance. I had no idea that there'd be so many dicks in it. We're talking borderline porn, with full on balls, dicks, and "happy endings" on camera. Crazy. The show itself was nothing special, just people talking about relationships and having graphic sex. I can see why it was canceled after one season.
Saturday afternoon, after getting home from work, we sat around until going out to the BDI with Ryan, Tina, and Pubs. I hadn't been there in ages, but it's still the place to be apparently as there was at least a 30 minute wait to get ice cream. If anyone reading this is not from Winnipeg, the BDI is a tiny "drive-in" style ice cream place right on the river by a foot bridge. They have interesting local specials like the "goog" and some of the best soft serve around. After fattening up, we proceeded to watch the original Die Hard movie. Ryan has a great set up for movie watching, big screen and surround sound but he needs to get more non Bruce Willis movies! Oh well.
Sunday was another work day followed by playing some Wii and SNES with Ritchie. Well, I played those while he was online playing Gears of War 2 on xbox live. We were going to go to see I Love You Man at the cheap theatre, but took longer at my parents for Father's Day dinner than anticpated and ended up watchin Hot To Trot with Lee. Man, I forgot how terrible Hot to Trot was... but at least it had some goofy charm. All in all, a fairly mundane weekend. This coming weekend, I have some free tickets to shows at the Jazz Fest, so it should be a little different. Now I should get back to work...

Wow, It's been ages or Back to Writing

So, It's been a long time since I have last written anything on here. In some ways, I almost regret it, as this is kind of a good time capsule for my thoughts and activities at the time of writing. I've gone back through old posts and re-read some of the drama of my life 5 years ago and it almost seems like they happened to a different person... Nostalgia!
So many things have gone on, but in some ways, things are still the same. I finally moved out, with Erin, but I will write more about that later.
I still work at Greyhound, although I may be laid off soon. That will leave me unemployed. Again, a source of confusion/apprehension as I am not sure what I will do. I never intended Greyhound to be a career, but it has been a good source of income and flexibility in my attempts at pursuing a career in the film industry.
I have been editing Cybernetic Showdown for damn near two years now. Rather, I have been waiting for Geoff to finish the CGI effects for nearly that long. At this point I just want to be done and move on with it. It's a rock tied around my ankle and a constant source of questions from all involved.
I have some things to work out in my life and I think that I will come back here to do so more often. If I write stream of consciousness form on here, I tend to come up with the answers to my problems, or at least elaborations on them.
Looking back at what I wrote in the past, I see many missed opportunities, but also the building blocks of what and where I am today. If tiny things had transpired differently, who knows what/where/and with who I would be with now?
